if I ever attain public office, I promise to mandate that anyone who wishes to use the self-scan thingy at the grocery store (or anywhere that has one) he must pass a test and get a license which must be updated on a regular basis, like every five years or so.

I hope those things never come to China. That would just make going to the grocery store a worse experience... as if shopping with a billion people couldn't get any worse.
